About the Competition

Connected Communities is a neighborhood-based organization promoting economic empowerment alongside Beechwood & EMMA residents. Our Neighborhood Pitch Competition is designed to identify and incubate emerging entrepreneurs from our community. Seven finalists will be selected to pitch their business ideas to a panel of judges, with the chance to win cash prizes to help launch or grow their ventures.

The first 20 people to register and complete the workshops will receive a $100 stipend.

Who is eligible to participate?

This competition is open to all entrepreneurs working in and around the Beechwood & EMMA neighborhoods. The competition is aimed towards emerging entrepreneurs that have a business in operation for less than 2 years and under $25,000 in annual revenue.

Do I need a complete business plan to apply?

No, a business plan is not required but you should have a clear business concept at a minimum. Our workshops will help you develop your ideas further.

What will the judges be looking for?

Judges will evaluate your business concept, market potential, financial viability, and your passion for the venture.

​

Do I have to attend all three workshops?

While not mandatory, attending workshops will significantly strengthen your application. To receive the $100 stipend, you must attend all three workshops.
